We're have all the masseurs and the blanket / clothes / Mellon sellers gone from the beach, the were here in May.

Holidays. It's August. Who needs blankets anyway in this weather. Never seen melons on the beach either; have you tried carrying a couple any distance.

Have been to the beach couple of times pass few weeks and each day I've been there police had been patroling on foot on beach

There has been a massive crackdown on unlicensed vendors this year with fines being issued.  It has been all over the British and Spanish press :-)

Hi, I've read the article which doesn't make any mention of a crackdown on the vendors, just a £170 fine if a tourist buys something off one. I may be missing something but wouldn't it be better if these plain clothes police arrested the vendor at the point of sale. How does a tourist know that the vendors are unlicensed or is it easy money for the Town Hall.
