Has anyone else noticed that Centauro car hire now only hire cars on the premium package so you can no longer use car hire insurance cover and have to take out theirs .
I suspect this will finally kill off their business it’s always been one of the more expensive ones

Yes noticed this as well there used to be 3 options now just the one, we cancelled with them last week and rebooked with Record Go, who are notoriously shifty but they were doing an online all inclusive special, we had a decent C car for €12 a day on full/full, the fuel refund was back on card before bay security check. The only annoyance was as it was online with a QR scan at podium collection the lovely lady had to “assist “ which entailed constantly upselling add ons, car seats, satnavs etc which I declined.

I have booked with do you Spain which is a new one for me it’s €70 for 10 days compared with Centauro at €280 even if I add in my annual carhire in’s it’s still more than twice the price.
I’ve used centauro for over 22 years and have booked over a  hundred cars with them and always found them really good ,I tried to contact them as to why I can only book premium but the EMail address no longer works and contact through their website is only allowing specific topics .
Seems strange I wonder if they are financially in trouble

When I arrived at Alicante I walked down to the car hire desks to look at centauro and see if they were offering without insurance at the desk they weren’t. Interesting that they were the only desk with no customers . There were queues at all of the others but no one at centauro . Hopefully people are voting with their feet

We’ve just cancelled our December car hire with Centauro which was booked earlier this year, whilst it has come down in price it’s still in my opinion worth having for what we intend doing whilst in GA.
