Curenergia Electricity Bills
« on: October 09, 2021, 20:27. »
Anyone else had problems understanding their electricity bill since the change over to the three bands of usage?

Curenergia seem to have added a random figure (this time nearly 63 euros) to my bill. The figure ‘por energia consumida’ top left-hand corner is 69.69. This section on the bill shows a buildup of transport, distribution, and energy charges of 7.47 and then a random figure of 62.22 for 'cost of energy' giving a total of 69.69. With a usage of 353kw this gives an extra cost of 0.176 euro/ kw on top of the normal build up.
Anyone else noticed this kind of problem with their bill?

Hi, I would say it is the green bit in the pie chart on page 1, and the explanation may be in the first paragraph on page 3, in essence you are on a low user tariff but have also signed up to paying variable charges due to energy market forces. It really could be clearer though. I think that various rates have applied to the 353 kw used during the period which is why they don't show detail, but in my view they could and should do so.

Try comparing with the rates you were paying for a comparable period in, say, 2020, before the change.

Must go and check my own bill now.

Michael.

Many thanks for the reply. It was very helpful. I tried out the comparison site mentioned on their bill and came up with some much cheaper quotes so I'll have to investigate.
