A neighbour in GA decided to put some astro turf/plastic grass down on his upstairs solarium, got to say it looked very good and I was tempted to do the same
It had been down about three months before it experienced its first heavy rainfall.......my neighbour was quite pleased at the heavy rain, he thought it would give the grass a good clean.
As him and his wife sat watching TV on the ground floor he heard the sound of dripping water coming from upstairs.......the plastic backing of the grass had blocked the drain on his roof......the level of water rose until it found its point of escape......the door at the top of his stairs to the solarium!!
He has since replaced it with a "grass" that allows the rain to seep through it and reach the drains.......a point to check if you are considering putting some down
