The reply we got when we asked was a shrug of the shoulders and a "no se", very helpful!

There's another one 20m away at the entrance to grannet and another in the bank another 25m away from that, plenty of choice.

The other ATM's are no good when using UK Santander cards as they charge per transaction & a terrible exchange rate hence the question on the Santander ATM

Then get yourself a Travelex Supercard, it's free and links to any account you have in the UK. You just put it in the ATM put your PIN in get the same rate as on XE.COM with no commission or Sterling fee, I have one and will be binning my Nationwide account when my contract is up, saving me £10 a month.

Philndeb ive also recently got this card, have you tried it in GA yet, whilst it uses the visa system the only potential cost will be the particular atm that may impose a charge. Other than that it appears brilliant as martin lewis reviewed last year.

Supercard was closed in May

The rates are not as good as using UK Santander cards in Spain
Below is the explanation from moneymakingexpert.com

Supercard pilot is now closed

Supercard's pilot was oversubscribed and closed within 24 hours after we featured it in the weekly email on 13 May.

If you received a notification when you signed up that you weren't accepted on to the pilot, then you'll likely have to wait until Travelex decide if it'll run Supercard as a full scheme.

All cards have been claimed, but if and when Supercard returns, we'll update you via our weekly email.

Bertdove's post was an oblique reference to an attack on an ATM at the GA centre IIRC. ISTR reading that an ATM was removed with the aid of some explosives, although whether that was the GA Centre one I'm not sure.

Yes it's very competitive, I checked my transactions and they're the same as XE.COM, no added fees and you can use any ATM, even the one at the Carrabasi doesn't charge.

New ATM has been installed should be up and running by the end of the week

With regard to the Travelex card rate not as good as Santander card always about 0.02 lower but good rate if you do not have Santander account
