Hi, Just bought a house in Gran Alacant and wondered if anyone could advise me where I could buy good quality garden furniture and sun loungers in the area. I have a car so doesn't necessarily have to be in gran alacant itself.

Hi,

My experience after ten years but other people have other preferences when buying garden furniture:

The large Carrefour in Torrevieja has a large gardening section and the price if fairly competitive (quality can be hit or miss).

The large furniture shop in Gran Alacant commercial centre has a selection of garden furniture which is good quality but expensive.

Also we have picked up bits and bobs from shops when driving around the region and have bought off neighbours (who bought too much initially).

I have bought some items from the Chinese shops but again the quality is hit & miss - my experience more miss.

I have bought sun loungers from one of the Chinese shops in Gran Alacant and they are still going strong after ten years ! For garden furniture try The Marina Auctions, its in a street before Iceland in The Marina, behind Lidl supermarket, he doesn't do auctions but now specializes in selling garden furniture. Hope this helps.

Congratulations on your new house!

In our experience, it is always worth spending a little bit more on outside furniture to ensure longevity. In particular with sun loungers, the less 'moving parts' the better  8)

All above posts are worthy, but you can also try the Brico in the GA Commercial Centre, they also have catalogues for you to browse through.

If you want them to really last and dont mind paying a bit more Jose Brinas in SanFulgencino is best bet. Very good range ....

Its only about 20 minutes down the 332 past La Marina.

Just aim for the Iceland store and you cant miss it

We got our loungers there Rich, still as good as new despite being exposed to the elements 24/7
We did buy cheaper ones originally from Carrefour......exposure to the sun resulted in brittle and weakened plastic, false economy

Regards all
