According to the site on mygranalacant the concrete walls are now going up, they don't hang about, they will want to be up and running as soon as possible, i don't think it will be there for us to use in December this time out but I hope it will for February.

Hi Gordon, looks like we will have to wait till the time after for it then, not a problem, when we first came out to gran alacant the only supermarket was the max coop, I remember going in for a chicken to do dinner and all they could offer me was a whole chicken with legs and head intact, we didn't have chicken that day, it's come a long way and is fabulous.

Photos of the build progress on the new Lidl as promised, taken today at 16:00. Also a photo of the progress on the premises where the Optician is re-locating (opposite the Mercadona entrance).

When we first bought the only supermarket in GA was a pokey corner shop where the tapas bar is now located on the Suen Azul block. I remember going one morning and paying in pesetas and getting my change in new euros.
When Maxcoop opened they had a free plant as an opening offer. Long time ago now, 2005ish I think.

Gran Alacant just before Maxcoop opened but i do remember going to that little shop where the Tapas bar is now it was a good little shop but seemed to have everything you needed

I remember at the commercial block at Carabassi, units had little notices in the window saying 'opening on...' That was back in 2002.

And that sums up why since 1986 until 2013, spain has been the largest recipient of eu money including from the uk. Everyyear spain receives billions more than it pays into the eu simply because of the black economy of undundeclared monies.
They dont like it up em !
