Or good for me if anyone wants to bet me ten euros it ever gets built? :)

Speaking of which, are there still guys with shovels digging about where Paramount was going down in Murcia?

A five star hotel in Arenalas,
not a cat in hells chance.
Who would want to pay five star prices and end up there??????
Three star all inclusive open April to October might just make it.......but I wouldn't bet on it.
As gaveteran says, it's yet to built

John

Don't want to argue against myself John, but five-star might be the only thing that WOULD work? Maybe make it ultra exclusive and have people just staying in the hotel and using (maybe) a private section of what is after all a very nice beach)? I am no hotelier, but maybe that's the plan? Of course, plan or not, the ratio of "suspected started" versus "completed" projects on the Costas is not in its favour :)

I can only go on the type of locations  of the "quality" hotels that we stay at, Arenalas wouldn't even tick one box!!

The only box with a tick is that it's on a beach, it needs far more than that IMHO to render itself suited to a five star establishment

I'm with you John the place is deserted from October to June .not sure anyone would be prepared to give them a private beach as it already is in use by the rest of us .

To be a top hotel you need a top location the beach is top quality but that's about all no real all year infastructue now maybe if the built a golf course !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only joking

Not completely disagreeing, but what about these resorts in dumps like Sharm el Sheikh? As far as I am aware (not lucky enough to have been) even Jamaica, Barbados etc you don't really venture from the hotel? Not my kind of holiday but perhaps some people just want five-star luxury (all inclusive) and a beach and - guaranteed sun?

Certainly they have five star uber-luxury hotels in Ibiza like that, and what about Asia Garden in Benidorm? (€500 a night or similar) I doubt it's clients head out for a euro breakfast in English Square in the morning? :)

Has anyone been down to see if work actually started? Even if they don't build new one the demolition of the old hotel would be great as it is an eyesore.

Hi, don't want to be picky but it'll be a 4 star hotel. Work has started and there's a small article in the Courier http://thecourier.es/2015/12/10/edition-251-is-out-now/

In fairness that's definitely not picky. If it's "only" 4-star then I think it'll certainly be a disaster (IF it gets built!)

Still - flattening the old one would be a good move!

A Facebook page has been set up for the hotel, some great photos.
I did a quick internet search of the hotel group developing the site, interestingly they don't appear to operate any hotels!!

The building itself doesn't appear to have been touched yet. Site huts have appeared beach side and corrugated fence erected at rear. Progress though! ;D
