Does anyone know of someone giving lessons in Gran Alacant? Acoustic guitar for a 9 year old beginner.

Hi, if I was there I would be delighted to get him/her started but I won't be back before next April/May. I'm sure there must be somebody in the area who can help. Best way to start is to buy a book of chord shapes and start learning to position and then change, strumming as you go, I always think the key of G is best to start with, G, Em, C, D, must be a million songs built round those 4 chords, I wish him/her luck with it.

Proves the point very well indeed, even worse is trad C&W which only uses 3 in most songs.

They have "jam sessions" on a Tuesday 9pm at Times Square bar near the swimming pool Masa complex might be worth going to and perhaps asking if any of the guys there are willing to help.
