Electric Water Heater Problem

Can anyone suggest a decent plumber or water heater engineer who might be able to sort out our system.  We replaced the original cyclinder with a new larger one and ever since it has made regular squealing noise, doesn't matter if heating or not, drives us made everytime we are over.

Just a thought re the water heater making a noise, have you checked to see if it's got an air bleed valve ? Probably at the top of the heater, air can cause noise.

Several years ago someone recommended the same guy, very nice chap really helpful, gave us a quote with a hefty discount which seemed reasonable with little to base it on, I popped into Euronics spoke with Pablo who could supply exactly same model fitted next day by Ivan Ribera for €120 less. Moral of the story do your own homework.

Totally agree about Clive - excellent work, however he is currently in the UK

Just updating this in case it's useful for others in the future.  Firstly the issue was the inlet valve on the bottom of the water heater was faulty.

As Clive was indeed unavailable he suggested Marco Mas in L'Altet who had the problem diagnosed before he walked in the house, 20 minutes to change it, minimal mess and very reasonable cost would definitely recommend for plumbing work if Clive isn't.

I've recently started having low water flow in my house in GA, upstairs toilet cistern wouldn't fill, I unscrewed the stop valve that is mounted on the bathroom wall surface and found the inlet to the valve completely blocked with scale, managed to clean it and restore working order but have started replacing valves around the house, I use a good winding of PTFE tape around the threads that go into the pipe socket in the walls, it's an easy job, I suspect that the valves on my water heater bare furring up so tackling those next.

I have a similar problem with constantly dripping toilet cisterns which is caused by a build up of limescale on the washer in the cistern assembly. I have to remove the assembly, clean the washer and then put it back on a regular basis.

Blue and White, GA seems to be a hard water area, the problem with the stop valves on the walls is that they are very small bore, doesn't take much to block them, still it all adds to the fun, nothing like a spot of plumbing when you are holidaying.
