I have a 1.4m dish in Spain that works fine on uk channels, but the box that was supplied with it is only standard definition . If I took a Uk HD freesat box out to Spain will it work and will it pick up HD and do you have to alter it in anyway .?
Here’s hoping someone knows

I had a 1.4m dish installed last October, works well on standard definition but HD channels are not reliable, disappear when it rains where with standard definition I still get good reception. I'm using a Humax box in the lounge and a Manhattan box in our bedroom both give the same signal performance, I've tweaked the LNB skew and it's very sensitive to small changes .

Kev we’ve had a 1.9m dish for 20 years and always run it through redundant sky boxes, the last one is pretty dated now, so which freesat box in your opinion is the better one?

Thanks Kevin do you have to change any settings in the box or does it just work the same as uk

I had my Humax box set to my post code in Suffolk and it worked straight away on my new dish in GA, I have read that inputting a Channel Islands post code gives good results, as some transponders cover our location on the CB better than others. Next time I go out I'm putting my cheap non Freesat receiver into work and going to look at what channels are strongest, there's loads of duplicate channels like the BBC's , CH4's and ITV's some hold up better than others. When we were out last October Dave , Drama and Yesterday were available until late evening, the visit we've just had up to the 25th January these channels were gone by 17:00 hrs. Good luck.
