Our experience of getting to Spain
« on: January 12, 2022, 18:07. »
We followed the very good instructions on the Jet2.com web site and had no difficulty in understanding the process and getting the necessary forms.  There were good links to the relevant sites.

Certificates:
Everyone talks about the Vaccine Certificate QR code.  When downloaded, the certificate was two pages long and contained three QR codes. This was confusing as we thought we had got the wrong thing.  Anyway it turned out that the only one of the QR codes that is looked at is the one about the booster jab. Get this form less than 30 days before departure.

Spanish Health Form.
We did this in two stages, the final one being two days before departure.  The address information was in a strange order but we did our best. I got the postcode wrong but was allowed to change it on the 'two days before' day. We chose our mobile phone number's country prefix from the dropdown list GB +44

NB: Get hard copies of the forms.

Departure:
The airline will check that you have the correct forms before you are allowed on the plane.

Arrival:
There are automatic face recognition passport check devices.  Then you go to a man in a booth who checks your passport again.  He stamps it.  At the end of the corridor one must queue and be guided to the Health Form check.  There were four check tables with very friendly staff. Also there is an automatic temperature check device above people's heads.  The whole process is very quick and we had no need to worry about procedure.

There were a lot of empty seats on the plane.

Alicante airport was also very quiet. It was 6th January, Three Kings Festival.

Experience is what you get just after you need it.
