Cancelled Flights

I see Ryanair have cancelled loads of flights between BHX and ALC in January. Hardly surprising really with the current state of play in the UK and Spain.

Could this also be a reason I wonder?

I doubt it O’Leary genuinely doesn’t care about people’s thoughts or comments . He once showed a report that over 150000 people who had complained and stated that they would never use him again, had booked another flight with Ryanair .
He doesn’t care what anyone thinks or says or does. It’s his way or no way. But we will all book with him again me included because he is cheaper than all the others

As most of you will remember I have been very critical of the Little fella and his illegal shenanigans, he has frequently stuck 2 fingers up at the EU laws which govern his activities. The EU are totally incompetent in enforcing there own rules on Europe’s largest airline.
Ryanair are viewed by other airline staff as the pound shop of flying, that said most people including me always chase the cheap flights, for Spain I prefer Jet2 or Easy jet but they nearly always are considerably more expensive by quite a margin. There was some nonsense peddled that people who did chargebacks would be blacklisted, we did several with great success and no blacklist, it’s all a game in O’Leary world so get your head around the rules, have eyes in the back of your head, anticipate that he will try and shaft you at every opportunity and all should be good. We’re now fully booked to ALC through till end of 2022 with mostly Ryanair and a few Easy Jet.

I always look at Jet2.com and easyjet first but as you say it is usually cheaper with Ryanair . I consider his airline as the airline of last choice but inevitably often end up on his planes purely for cost. As you say keep an eye on his every move and changes to policy , never expect to get away with anything .you never get the benefit of the doubt .

As for chargebacks he did recover some money a mate of mine booked flights this summer and paid for them when he went to check in he had to repay the chargeback from a previous flight before it let him get his boarding passes . This was later refunded after O’Leary was told it was illegal , you gotta admire his cheek but yes he did do it and then had to stop and refund them

I've flown over 200 times with Ryanair and never had a problem with them. I've had planes cancelled due to French air traffic controller's strike, a  strike at Alicante airport and the infamous Icelandic volcano. Even with Covid I got my money back after a bit of a wait or changed my flights easily.
I know the rules and know what I can get away with, small hand luggage only, no seat purchase etc. The only downside is invariably I get a middle seat.
Compared to the current prices at Jet 2 and the prices from Monarch and BMI Baby in the past for me there's no comparison.

Trying to book on Ryanair when you need assistance is not such a easy affair.

I've been holding my breath, we are flying to Alicante airport next week from Stansted.
