Tad too late to rescue a Christmas break, although you can lay a lot at BJ's door he can not be held responsible for entry requirements another country may make

I actually wrote to the Spanish Embassy seeking clarification. Their reply confirms that anyone over the age of 12 must have had two vaccinations before they can enter Spain. This is exactly what they said (copied and pasted).
British residents over 12 must  show prove of complete vaccination (two dosis) .

They've been listen to Nicola Sturgeon.

I hope no one is listening to her or drake ford who want 8 days isolation for all international arrivals, she just wants to destroy the travel industry & Scotland

I suppose the flip side of the coin would show that all she wants (after independence that) is to save life. In fact thinking about this a little more that would be third in line after a greater contribution from the English tax payers.

I think the Spanish government are also doing their best to ruin their tourism but they are left wing I think. (Re preventing kids from the UK enjoying a family holiday).

The whole lot does not stand up to scrutiny in my view.

I don’t get why they want to restrict the UK entry when Germany is on its knees and with an open border to France and then Spain. These decisions are political not anything that will remotely help stop the spread of covid .

What is really interesting is that they don’t seem to be enforcing the 90 / 180 rule at passport control in Alicante . I now know of 4 people who are over the 90 days getting in during last 2 weeks . One who got in weds has been 123 /180 . His passport is all stamped and has been in the auto passport reader every time both on entry and exit he was just trying his luck for Christmas in Spain and was fully expecting to be denied entry but no straight through and in car in less than 30 minutes

It has change yet again. If Boris changes his boxers as frequently then all will be well.

From Tuesday everyone must have a test before departure to the UK. See here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59534685

In the above BBC report it says everyone must take a test before departure. So I assume this includes children. For a family this is going to be very expensive. Also until the results come back for the day two test one cannot go out and therefore I assume in most cases they will be unable to earn a wage.

The only thing Jimmy Krankie wants is independence from England the hatred runs so deep that if Scotland ended up as a third world country she would pay that price. Fortunately recent polls still suggest that most Scots know which side there bread is buttered and better with the English than going alone, even North Sea oil is a busted flush after 2030 with us going green.
We are out this week so taking LFTs and PCRs with us for return trip, the LFTs are phone submissions and the pcrs are being dropped at airport arrivals for same day results .

Good luck Wilson , I’ve no idea what the rules will be when you come back they change daily. Probably need 5 vaccines 5 tests and a bag over your head to fly soon , and yet the early data of the new mutation is that it’s quite mild . There is a report going around that no one anywhere in the world has died from it hopefully that’s true and we can get back to normal

Hi all
We flew on Tuesday 30th Nov, 7am from Acl. having paid £50 each ( £100), on line Sunday 28th Nov. we were promised that the test kits would be at our address in UK prior to our arrival, mine arrived Thursday 2nd Dec 13 30 test performed registered Etc. & dispatched here I am Sunday 18 00 not had a result.
My wife who booked both tests at same time, same credit card has not received a test kit, our prime minister told us a week ago that we should stay at home not go out quarantine till we get a negative PCR result from our 2nd day tests. we have done several lateral test all negative.
Its a tax on travellers, now I'm reading soon we shall once again visit Salvum ( Or other or places GA) to help the Spanish economy out, by have a pre departure test, while many or not wearing masks as he wants football stadiums are full but travellers have to pay.
it,s con against travellers
Jim

In the past I've used Randox Health for a home PCR test. I drop the test off at one of their collection boxes and have had the results back the next day.
For the home Antigen test I used Flysurance and emailed them a photo of the results mid afternoon and got my confirmation back the same evening.

Thanks, B&W - I see you mention the Randox PCR tests. Is that the fastest turnaround in your experience? When I come back we land at BHX about 14:30 (on a Friday) and I am looking for the fastest turnaround. Wondering if I can get something done (tested) at the airport on arrival so the results come back quicker, due to work commitments the following week
