Am I correct in thinking that children under the age of 12 that have not been vaccinated do not have to take a PCR test to be allowed into Spain.

According to Gov Uk tonight there is no requirement for the under 12s (But i'd check the Spanish government one as well).

Hi

This is really confusing.

A family of five being two parents who are both fully vaccinated, Three children aged 9, 13 and 16 none have yet had the full vaccinations (two). Their holiday is booked for December this year.

Do the new rules equate to only the parents and the younger child being allowed to have their holiday in Spain?

The way I read it - the 13yo  and the 16yo appear to be unable to travel to Spain while the parents and the 21 yo can.

What a mess

This ruling effects the Wilsons imminent  travel with children of various ages. Good job I was working last evening otherwise I would today be buying a new tv after throwing something heavy towards our leader who in true blathering form said a lot but actually didn’t tell us anything. Today my boss and MP also appears to have left the back of his fag packet somewhere as again a lack of clarity but a big dollop of ambiguity. Fortunately the NHS hierarchy take no notice of the occupants of the clown car. My opinions of course others may have there own.

Yes that is exactly how I have read it. What a disaster. My friend has booked to take his partner and her two children plus his own son on holiday so the kids can get to know each other. Having booked the flights and hotel it now looks like he will not be able to take the two older children so obviously they lose their holiday and money that they can't afford.

Hi John this is totally different to what is reported on the BBC news website this morning;

From next month, British tourists will only be able to enter Spain if they can show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.

Until now, unvaccinated travellers were allowed into the country if they could present a negative PCR test that was take 72 hours before their arrival.

"The appearance of new variants causing (coronavirus) obliges an increase in restrictions," the government said.

Spain's Industry, Trade and Tourism department said approximately 300,000 British people who are resident in Spain will not be affected by the new measures.

Well I’m totally confused now glad I came back from Spain Friday but I’m planning on going in jan god knows what the rules will be by then. So are the antigen / lateral flow tests pointless then ? Do they not work ? Because they have only been in for 3 weeks and now it’s back to a PCR test on re entry  to Uk as far as I can tell the rules into Spain haven’t changed

Come on Boris for gods sake get a grip man , this bumbling from one nightmare to the next can’t carry on now he’s chasing everyone for a booster after weeks of telling us you have to be over 60 and it has to be 6 months and one week since 2nd jab now you can be newborn and get all three at one time

No one has a clue what the rules are AGAIN

You should get a refund from the company you booked your LFT with.
We received an email this morning saying we would get a full refund

From what I've read kids between 12 and 16 are only being offered one dose of the vaccine.

If this is correct no one with children over the age of 12 can take a holiday in Spain. It doesn't seem that this has been thought through correctly.

Sixteen year olds onwards can have the second dose, it's just the 12 to 16 group that are kippered for Spanish holidays, a b****ers muddle.

I see that to change the dates of the flights is costing more than the flight price. Boy am I glad I sold when I did well maybe I hung on longer than I should have done.
