Sorry Wilson, I look at all the evidence and out of the millions of people who have had Covid there is no fact checked peer reviewed data to suggest that ANY people are getting re-infected.

There HAS been a massive study of healthcare workers in the UK who have tested positive as long ago as March last year, Sample size is huge - well over 10,000.

Zero, none, nil people were reinfected

Not anecdotal information

"Needless to say talk of herd immunity has gone because the herd which is now 100k smaller than this time last year just keeps reinfecting each other" - where was that worked out from ?

On a positive note if you remove 2/3 million from the herd each week then we could all be back in mass square singing along to Bojangles by August.

Some of you may know my opinion of Mr Bojangles but right now I would pay to see him in Masa Square

No I agree people are not getting re infected. Plus if you look at Boris & Matt Hancock they have loads of antibodies nearly a year later. Even if we have to have a vaccine every 6 months it’s worth it to return to normal

So if there is no one getting reinfected then if you use the gov figures then so far 3,2 million people in UK have already been infected
Add to that the agreed numbers that in about 50% of people infected have not had a test since April that’s another 3.2 million
Add to that the 2.6 million that have been vaccinated

That’s 9 million out of 67 million population or 13% who in theory can’t catch it . So how in the hell is it spreading so fast here ?

BL, the internet is littered with credible reports from around the world regarding reinfection. With so many being Asymptomatic, a testing system that has failed miserably to identify people efficiently, millions of family members isolating remained untested, the data is a complete mess it would be like pushing treacle uphill to come up with anything credible.Like most things in life if there is a will to find evidence then it’s found. I’m no conspiracy theorist but can you really believe half the nonsense that’s peddled out of number 10 regarding the pandemic. Time will tell BL but I’m confident I will update this thread later in 2021 with a told you so, which will give me no pleasure.

Interesting I think the jury is still out on reinfection but found this on BBC website

Have people caught it twice?
There were early reports of people appearing to have multiple coronavirus infections in a short space of time.
But the scientific consensus is that testing was the issue, with patients being incorrectly told they were free of the virus.
Scientists from Hong Kong recently reported on the case of a young, healthy man who recovered from a bout of Covid-19 only to be re-infected more than four months later. Using genome sequencing of the virus, they could prove he caught it twice because the virus strains were different.
Experts say re-infection isn't surprising, but it's likely to be rare, and larger studies are needed to understand why this might happen.
Nobody has been deliberately reinfected with the virus to test immunity, but a pair of rhesus macaque monkeys have.
They were infected twice, once to build up an immune response and then a second time three weeks later. Those very limited experiments showed they did not develop symptoms again after such a quick reinfection.
