UK Government Locator Form

Yesterday in GA filled in the UK Government Locator Form as required, it generates a . PDF form with a scannable character that's read at your returning UK airport, we returned to Stansted and there was no one to scan it. The SPTH form we completed when we flew in to Alicante airport was scanned, a couple of guys with hand scanners did the task. Draw your own conclusions.

You have to put your passport details on the form. A quick check against the passports scanned on the UK data base will immediately identify any passports without matching locator forms so the appropriate action can be taken. A lot quicker and cheaper than having someone standing there checking them.
Only once in the last three trips have I been asked to show my locator form at BHX when I landed.

I had same in July when I cam back no one at Stansted to look at it . The whole form both the Spanish one and the Uk one were a waste of time . Basically no one going to Spain was ever going to answer yes to the health questions were they ?

Came back into Manchester from Rome 4 weeks ago, a guy at immigration visually checked my mobile display to see the QR code which could have been a photo from the table of the last restaurant I visited.

I may be wrong but I seriously doubt there is the capacity in this government to be able to check the passport database against locator form input.

Will be returning on Eurotunnel soonish, and you're a captive audience there so will see what happens.

Our online (on I-Phone) form not checked back on arrival and now on my last day of enforced quarantine. No calls to check on our whereabouts over the last 13 days and as I said no one checking on arrival when coming back into BHX.

Its my understanding there is no direct link between passport control and the locator system. Its all good will.

Not wanting to cheat personally - but from what I saw if no-one had filled the forms in on my return flight no one would have been any wiser

nice to know what happens if you don't have an iphone like me. I came back in july to m/cr with easyjet, the steward gave me a form to complete which i handed in at passport control, no problem.

Don't think there is any way of downloading a form and filling it in, has to be done online, you can then print it out. I found our government form a bit ambiguous in places though it accepted the dates I put in.

Just a query.
We've booked with Ryanair to return to UK for 12 days over the Christmas holiday to stay with our daughter.
We booked because the prices were cheapest ever for us, €115 total for 2 returns, an amount we can write off
if Ryanair behave as normal.
My query is this -
Just what are the quarantine rules for a 12 day stay?

If you travel to the UK you have to quarantine for 14 days before you can leave your accommodation, we came back from Spain on Monday so are currently house bound for two weeks.

In addition to you having to quarantine your daughter and everyone at their home would also have to quarantine from my understanding of the rules.....friends who have their daughter visiting from Canada have had to do this.

Regards all

To clarify, does this mean we are not allowed a 12 day stay in the UK?
So, Ryanair should not have allowed the booking?

Yes you are allowed a 12 day stay in the UK but unfortunately the current rules are that you will have to quarantine and not go out anywhere) for the whole time you are there from the address you nominate.

I need to check but it ma also be the case that your daughter cant go out for the 12 days your are there also and may have to continue to isolate for a further two days after you have gone.

Sorry - its a pain in the proverbials but they are the rules "led by science"  :o

Its a legitimate  flight route so dont expect Ryanaor to help on cancellation

Under the current rules people from different households are not allowed to mix indoors if the area is in tier two or three. You might have to pitch a tent up in the garden. Unless your surname is  (C) Cummins and then you do as you please. It could all have changed by the time you travel. Hoping for the best.
