I’m the local expert collette Smith I’ve worked in the horse charity shops in GA since it opened I’m their on a Tuesday afternoon and Saturday please feel free to pop in and then I will let you know I was interviewed for 20 minutes and had no input on what they were going to use ,if you were a regular visitor to the charity shop you would of not had to ask who I am. We were watching A Place in The Sun and recognised one of the Aurora's on the outside of the next phase to ours, had a a a look the next day, still for sale . Would be buyers have no sense of reality, offering 75k on a 115k house, if I'd been the agent on the other end of the phone my reply would be two words, the second being off.

Jasmin's voice gets on my tits, this was a quite recent version, once again no one on the beach,no one on the childrens play area, no one in the swimming pool, yet was filmed in warm weather, if they filmed when the pools had 40 people swimming, jumping in the pool, playing with beach ball, then you could knock £5000 of the price !   i HAVE WATCHED a.p.i.t.s for 15 years, never seen anyone in the pool or in the gardens...

The latest programme was filmed, I believe in October last year. Also I understand the reason there is never anyone in the pools etc is because of privacy issues etc and the production team have to get the permission from the President of the Community involved before they can film.

I love the programme.  I skip through all the ones that arent Costa Blanca.  Also like Sun sea and selling houses.  Who cares if they buy or not it gives you an hour of sunshine on a dreary day.

I’m a bit of both , bought the U.K. property , more than doubled its value with the refurb, which funded the place in the sun 😃

At least with huth they follow successful auction buyers, whereas in place in the sun the vast majority are dreamers or time wasters, a friends brother unbeknown to the family had filmed a episode several years ago. He actually lives in Saudi but also has a house in england. His episode was in portugal when we watched it months later it was laughable with him and the wife making all the right noises with absolutely no intention of buying a property anywhere let alone portugal. Whilst the programme is light entertainment it does give the viewers and potential buyers the impression that getting a big chunk off the asking price is the norm, and the vendors estate agent will screw the vendor to get the sale through. Ive lost count of people ive spoken with in GA whilst on there hols who know everything about the spanish property market.

Not sure if it was "Niko" or not. But we had Tony/Mitch from New Life refurb our shower room recently, and they recognised that our kitchen had been done by a Spanish friend who may have been "Niko", Can definitely recommend New Life - great job/good price.

Yes definitely agree, it just a escape for a hour. I also like sun, sea & selling. I saw the Rodriguez family at the nec Birmingham, a place in the sun trade show, last year. The girls had no make up on ( noting wrong with this I was just surprised as they always look so glamorous on tv) and they was all having a big row with  each other. Mom and 2 sisters.
