We've been unable to visit our house, due to Covid 19, however since end of March Sabadell have locked us out of our online facility. We have no idea how much money we have in our account nor what bills have been paid and how much. For the last 4 months I have telephoned, no reply, emailed, no reply and posted a letter, no reply.

Any ideas what else I can do. The number I ring is 0034 966 698 193. I always get the message that they are busy and to ring back.

It's happened to me two or three times with the BBVA. I've had to go in with my passport to unlock the account. Once it was Spanish bureaucracy the other time it was through entering the wrong details several times.
I have a running schedule of when every bill goes out and the amount it was last year so I always have a good idea of how much is in there and when to top it up. I always like to keep the balance over a 1000 euros where possible.
Doesn't really answer your question but may help in the future. The only way out I found was to go in in person as they wouldn't accept any other means.

Whilst my answer gives no help, it might make you feel better to know your not alone with Sabadell. Theyre customer service ranks alongside Ryanairs they really dont give a monkeys. They are so infuriating to deal with rarely answering the phone, email or live chat, then not ringing back as arranged. Ironically they take quarterly fees swiftly accurately and with efficiency.

We use Bankinter, they seem very efficient, we set up online banking years ago and I have started using Transferwise to put money in our account, I initially sent €50 euros and by the time I'd logged off and then into our Bankinter account the money was there.

I'm with BBVA and for 20 years I've always found them excellent whenever help is needed. They are expensive though approx 2 euros a month in charges. They have English speaking people at the end of the phone 'Quiero hablar con una persona que hable ingles' gets you put through to the right section.
Last week they spent half an hour in branch with us sorting out our BBVA app problems.
I use Currencyfair to transfer money across from England.

Hi diggybabe....sorry you are having problems with Solbank....I know we all have a preference but we have been with Solbank for 17 years now and only had one or two problems. In the main this was when they merged with CAM and the staff transfer was not good!!!!
I have looked online and there is another number to the one you have tried. It does say it is the number to ring for help so here goes and hope it helps you....0034 935 202 910.

Over nearly 20 years and various mergers we ended up as a Sabadell customer and to be fair the account runs very well, like Kev we use transferwise and the Sabadell App pings literally seconds later you press send, a vast improvement on 4 days and nearly £20 fee. Sadly the issue seems if theres a problem it really has been like the ryanair runaround show. I cant waste hours of my life in the branch behind others who always seem to have a complex problem that involves raised voices and much hand movement. In the end i made a complaint after several months which they would answer within 7 days that was in January and still pending reply six months later.

Been with Sabadell for the last 13 years. Haven't been locked out yet, but dread for the day. Started to move away from them though. Main reason being the fees and lack of support / communication when something happens. Moved a few of my utility bills to an account with N26. Online bank only, been working like clockwork for almost a year now. Since the N26 account is free of charge I said I'll give it a year before moving the rest. Only had contact with them once online, rapid response (user error) and quickly resolved.

Hi I had exactly the same problem at the end of last year Diggybabe. The only way you can get the account unlocked is to visit the bank in person! I had to send money from the UK in the hope the account would not overdraw as like you I had no idea what funds were in there. The bank was very unhelpful and in the end I had to fly over to get it sorted out. I did request a statement to be sent so I could see what funds were in there. So it might be a good idea to speak to the branch and ask for that. Hope you manage to get it sorted as a worry when you do know what money is in there. Hope this helps

We had the same problem with Bankia,threatened to have the water cut off.Had to fly over and sort it in person.Good luck

When Spanish bureaucracy locked my account I too had problems with the water company - forget the name as it's now changed. I phoned them and after explaining the situation - i.e. it wasn't me being awkward - I paid via credit card over the phone.

That’s exactly what I did I managed to ge all the contact numbers rang them and paid any outstanding bills buy card, I then gave them my contact details and then then sent be the bills directly and was paid easily, but remember to restart you direct debits once you have sorted it all out . it’s all to do with the new money launderering laws, we needed to go to the bank in person with all our documents including passports ( both of us if there is more than one name on the account) and then it was reopened there and then.
