Contactless transactions ?
Hi wilson, Ive  been reading all the posts and Derek who obviously runs a business even says there are charges for using a card machine, so not flannel, however, reading his posts he says these charges are mitigated by not having to pay charges from paying cash into the bank, something as a non business owner I never even realised happened.
Obviously, I speak for my own personal preference and as I said at the end of my post a cashless society will no doubt arrive one day. For me, as late as possible, happy to continue with my own personal preference and use cash when I can and cards when I need to.

Hi Sunseekers, I'm in your camp; card for shopping, fuel, large items etc but for bars, restaurants and the like I prefer cash.

We went to Iceland last year and it's the only place I've ever been where I never saw the local currency, everything was card even for tiny amounts. I came home with a pocket full of receipts, and as one who likes to reconcile my monthly statement with the receipts it was a long process.

I can get €400 at a time with my debit card in GA and it lasts a reasonable period and your never far away from an ATM when out shopping.
