We've just moved to GA in mid January. Can anyone recommend a local alternative to Ikea,
as we've had problems with them finding us (we're in 3.2g). One driver found us, delivered,
then next day different driver couldn't.  In general, we're looking for a queen size mattress + frame.
Ikea were quoting in the 620€ range, so that's our preferred budget. We've looked at the 2 stores in the GA
Commercial centre, but they seem way above our budget.
Any help appreciated

You could try the Bed Shop in El Altet on the corner by the traffic lights as you enter from GA. Or alternatively Conforama at San Juan also have an excellent selection.

I found J Brincas in La Marina are excellent. Great service and quality. Free delivery( same day) and they take your old furniture away . Would definitely recommend. See photo attached, they advertise in the GA Advertiser.

If you do go down to La Marina to check out Brinas I would call in at Mariolas at the main 'strip' entrance to the urbanisation as well.

There are also a few furniture stores in Santa Pola.  They don't look like much from the outside but worth a look

Good Luck and enjoy Gran Alacant

Can anyone explain the presence of the (ever on sale) furniture shop, and laterly, the kitchen shop in the GA Center?  ***  How can they possibly pay the rent? I have never, ever, in five years plus seen a customer in them. How many coffee tables and worktops would you have to sell a week? Staff, rent, static charges... surely it's impossible?

The bed shop in El Eltet has closed down. The furniture  you may like in Conforarma is usually out of stock, you can wait up to 3 months until your order arrives.

You obviously never saw us gaveteran, we bought quite a few things from the furniture shop. The service was always first rate, a discount was always available without too much negotiation, delivery was always in the time frame promised even for factory orders, the ladies in the shop are very good.
I can recomend.

Regards all

John

Totally agree with John, we bought 3 beds from K+K, all excellent quality, not the cheapest,  but a good discount every time we bought one. They were delivered quickly at no extra cost.

The bed shop in El Altet hasn't closed - we were in there this morning!
And this used to be the case a few years ago with Conforama, but we have been re-furbishing an apartment and all the goods bought were either available that day or within a week or so, they actually said they could deliver the sofa within 3 days!

I will let you know about the kitchen shop as I plan to have them round to price up for a new kitchen. Will be interesting to see what their prices are like.

Is K&K also called "Banak"? Online they don't seem to do bedframes, only bedheads and mattresses.

No; Banak is a small shop in the Commercial Centre.  K & K is just down the road from Lidl.

Thanks to everyone. We finally found what we wanted bedwise(?) in K+.
Really good service from "Consu" at a well discounted price. Next is a
tv unit and coffee table from Banak, hopefully.

We bought our Lounge suite from K+ "Consu" - Consuela was really helpful us in terms of chasing up delivery etc

We have bought 2 double beds from K+ as well as the lounge settee and chair.

TV Unit and floating shelves from Banak

Table, chairs, glass cabinets and coffee tables from JYSK

All of our white goods from Euronics

We didnt have to go far outside of the GC CC to get what we have needed in recent years - and I did price up going into Torre and it wasnt worth it .
