I think it will be as per last year - Santa Pola Council seem determined to hold a June 1st to Sept 30th window of operation. Awfully late considering how good the wether can be from the end of April onwards.

"View Beach" towards Arenales might open a bit earlier as technically its in Elche which has a less controlling attidude

hi
Santa Pola beaches jurisdiction starts at beach by small chapel, last year North of that which is in Elche I can only assume ( never assume I was told in younger years) will be as normal, South of that Santa Pola coalition may do as last year, restrict restaurants/ bar along coast & beach maintenance reflect this.
The  ONLY booming enterprises south of boundary is the FREELOADING  mobile homes that do not want to pay for their over night & many day stays, I note that heading South past the Belsares turn off on N332 on right side there is a road side advert offering over night stays with seviçes at a massive cost of €10/ day  at El Pinet La Marina
However some who live here & are on  PADRON  will have a vote soon to express my disguest at the none  interest of politician of issues outside of the town centre  of Santa Pola GA is only a revenue gathering wing of SP
cheers
Jim

I’m not condoning what they do Jim, and I’m jumping to no assumptions about how they dispose of their “waste”
But if I was a van owner and had the choice of parking up on the shores of the Mediterranean with a group of like minded people or on a site I’d choose the sea shore irrespective of the price of the site.
A few of the neighbours have camper vans, in fact ones in Spain right now, maybe even right where we are talking about, and they all tell me what a brilliant atmosphere it is where they park up and a feeling of community and friendship
As long as the authorities allow it they will do it.

Regards all

John

Hi Peter - there is no beach bar activity yet.

I can't remember when the Blue Monkey opened last year but it didn't close until the second week of November (as the previous year).

The Nomo Beach Club (former Life Beach) is scheduled to open for Easter; or at least that was the opinion when it closed last year on October 2nd. No idea at all about the View Bar or if the King of the Sardines will return.

29 degrees yesterday and the beaches were packed and Arenales was the centre of the universe. All change today 15 degrees and a slight shower this morning.

Just my view on the beaches ....

Santa Pola Council have been ruthless in closing off the Chirungitos over the last 2 years from Santa Pola East all the way to Carabasssi. Also they have drastically reduced the licenced season - unless a special "arrangement" is agreed from 1st June to 30th Sept.

They (SP Council) have demanded a standardised bar approach - which you can buy / lease off the council - so a standardised block (like a container) is all you are allowed to lease. SP council have severely reduced the beach depth (tide line to road) all the way from El Faro (white church) to Arenales (view beach) in an effort to protect the dunes - I didnt know there was a problem, with the dunes. Net effect - particularly around the Life Beach pitch in the summer is a very narrow, unattractive crowded beach.

SP and Elche need to team up and have a joined up plan that makes the place more inclusive and less constrained

As someone who (very soon) will be dodging July and August it really doesn't bother me personally - but if the beach area needs to be more attractive in the main summer months there needs to be a different approach

Both the Blue Monkey and the Nomo Beach bar are being erected today. Presumably be open by weekend. Let's hope the forecast rain stays away.

Be aware that this Thursday, Friday, Sunday and next Monday are Red or reddish days. I'm never quite sure who the rules apply to.
