Anything which stops people waiting to board queuing while others faff around putting their stuff in the lockers, blocking the boarding isle is ok by me. :)

Unfortunately it looks like there will still be lots of people fafffing around with bags in the aisles, but they will have had to pay £6-10 for the privilege.
I'm looking at 20L bags and load carrying vests as an alternative .
Ryanair are going to lose customers over this as for a couple on a return trip it could add £40 to the trip.

He should go back to the old days no seat allocation pick a seat and sit in it loading the plane in that way was so much quicker . O’Leary was the one who started all the hand luggage issues he wanted no one to have a case then when he achieved it he changed his mind and wanted to charge for that instead

Grubby little airline always looking to part you with your cash used to be a regular 10 times a year now it’s only if no other viable options available

Removing the bags from the passengers in the non-priority queue was always bound to fail. It only added time and cost to the Ryanair operation (they have to pay the baggage handlers extra for the extra bags going in the hold) - so I guessed they were going to try something new.

Just experimented and tried to do a booking on their website post Nov 1st when the new policy comes in - but if you book before 1st Sept the option to drop your 10kg bag off at check in isnt there yet and will be charged retrospectively (or you can cancel your flight) charming !

Priority boarding (and hence bringing your bag on the plane) will be limited to the first 95 passengers who apply - then the priority boarding option wont be available for any given flight

If you want to keep your costs right down and can get your stuff into a 40x20x25 flight bag you will still be OK with that in your hand in the non priority queue

Must admit drives me nuts the way people FAFF about putting bags in the overhead lockers, someone will put it in and then the wife will say can I have my cardigan, meanwhile twenty people are waiting to get past, even seen people put small suit cases length ways across the locker, how stupid is that, perhaps everything should go in the hold.

Look at the positives in this, when your flight is cancelled you don’t have as much to carry home #customercareryanairstyle

if you want to avoid all charges dont book your seats in advance, dont book prioity, bring a strong carrier bag 35x20x20 with your sandwiches, laptop and reading items. As most of us are householders in G.A all our clothes etc are all in the house.  I took cabin baggage cases last trip,, carting them up & downstairs (no lift) @ m/cr airport, then waiting at carocel at alicante, or standing in the queue @ boarding gate to get on plane early to find a vacant locker, now i just sit at the check in desk till the last few are in the queue & proceed to my allocated seat
people who live in glass houses should undress in the dark !

I think you are always going to get the "faffing" jackets, cardigans, duty free etc, etc  regardless ,it seems to me they are trying to get everyone to use checked in bags ,what annoys me as much is as soon as the seatbelt light goes off they leap up drag their stuff from overhead lockers and slump over the top of you checking those all important messages on their mobiles , why? where are they going ,there are no steps to get down unless they are going to abseil down to the tarmac because they  "must " be first back into the terminal building ,drives me nuts !!

Ok my understanding - if you pay for priority boarding £6 you can take a small suitcase as well as a 'handbag type thing' on board but the suitcase is now smaller than the current allowed size. If you pay £8 you can put as big a suitcase in the hold as you like as long as it doesn't weigh more than 10kg. Or you just pay nothing for a small 'handbag' under the seat.

That’s about it except for 2 issues no1 priority boarding does not mean you get to sit together there’s another charge for that and no2 only 95 people can get the £6 priority so take a case on board .

To say nothing about a plane where over half the people are priority boarders how is that a priority? Just another cash raising idea by a very poor management
