Out of interest, at what rate would uk people using the sterling exchange rate consider leaving Spain or in non residents cases choose to go on holiday outside the eurozone where exchange rates haven't moved that much.

We saw the biggest expat exodus (probably being dramatic there) when the rate hit parity. Interesting point though. The non-eurozone areas that are in reasonable sub 4 hour flights are limited to Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia Morroco  - and I just don't fancy any of those  - so I guess Spain would be ok tourist wise at 1:1 or even a bit less fir a while

At stansted yesterday the date was €1 to £1.02. I know they rip you off on the rate at airports but that's a bit steep

I think the physiological turning point would be when a pound sterling was only worth 99 cents. A good time to sell euro assets though. Interestingly though on the last poor exchange run several years ago, lots of uk people upped sticks and moved on. I was talking to a neighbour in ga the other day and we were remembering all the original owners from 2004, out of 35 properties there were only 4 original owners left. Most being bought by Spanish people moving from elche or alicant and snapping up discounted sales.

I've turned half my sale proceeds into sterling. I'm wondering how much longer to hang on to the Euros for. How much lower will it go? The politicians are going round in circles over Brexit so I may have to wait until March 2019 to actually find out.
