The sign at the entrance to Gran Alacant has finally been replaced!

Thanks for the news, but it's a shame its hideous and inexplicably has "Santa Pola" written all over it with "Gran Alacant" like an after-thought. Strange priority for a sign FOR Gran Alacant. Still, at least it has bunches of social icons all over it, that's handy on a printed sign.

Surprised it didn't say

"We love all the money you generate,and by the way we'll not spend much on GA"

Although maybe that's what Santa Pola means in English

I think this sign says, we acknowledge how popular you are and how well you have grown and attracted new building, new businesses and new tourism in the last sixteen years. So much so that we now want to point out to people that might not have known that Gran Alacant is part of Santa Pola.

Terrible sign in my opinion, does not represent the area at all in its design. Where is the beach, the bars, the 5 Chinese ,4 Indians,3 bazzars, 2 Mexicans and a train that only goes one way.

Well ....what a bog up ; everyone looking for Santa Pola will now drive into Gran Alacant looking for Santa Pola....everyone looking for Gran Alacant will miss Gran Alacant and drive on past .....honestly one word

If you write to the GA Advertiser the council will refer it immediately to the Misleading Signs Sub-committee.

I dont think the local council are amateurs nor incompetent,i think whoever designed the sign knew full well what they were doing, to me its just arrogrance and the usual two finger salute to the local taxpayers.
