Hi, I know above subject has been on before but can't find it. Can anyone advise again how we go about getting one. We bought the house 13 years ago new build and don't know if it is lost or we never had one. We used Aroca Sequier for purchase , would they be able to obtain.

Hi, Aroca have advised that habitation certificates are only valid for 5/10 years dependant on area and  when we bought our house they were not required. They advise we would need an architect to carry out a full survey at a cost of c500 euros and if we need an energy certificate this would be 100 euros.

Has anyone got a certificate recently and know if this is correct ?

I don't like to question your advisor but from everything I've read they have been required for quite a long time.
They are correct in saying they need renewing for instance if you are selling to ensure that any building works you have done have been noted.
I'd nip down the town hall if I were you to see if one was originally issued.
We've had our house for 12 years and we have one on file

So ... truth is really in-between. I'd ask the Town Hall. If necessary, take a print-out of this article.
