Anyone Using a SKY+ HD box on community Dish ?
« on: May 11, 2016, 15:05. »
Perhaps someone in this group can advise.

My Urb has a decent sized (2.2 mtr) dish pointing at 28.2 east which is distributed via cable to my house.

I have a HD FTA box plugged in and its working fine with a reasonable selection of channels and HD is fine with a bit of "freezing" occasionally which I can tolerate.

With daughter growing up and moving away I bought over a pretty new Sky+ HD box thinking it would be pretty much "plug and Play" but I am getting "no Satellite Signal received" message.

Plugging the FTA box back in gives a good picture.

Am I missing something ?

I only have 1 cable from my dish
If you only have one satellite connection from your satellite dish to your Sky+HD box, you will need to activate single feed mode. Please ensure the dish input cable is connected to Dish Input 1 at the back of your Sky+HD box and that no recordings are currently in progress before following the steps below.
Try this if you are just using one cable.
Press Services 0,0,1, Select
Highlight Single Feed Mode using the down arrow button.
Toggle the setting to ON using the left/right arrows.
Press the green button to save your changes.
You will see a warning message “Single Feed Mode – Caution. This will take a few minutes to complete. Pressing select will reboot your Sky+, and current recordings will be stopped. It will then mean you can only record one programme at a time; and anytime will be unavailable. Press select to continue or back up to cancel.”
Press select to reboot your Sky+HD box.

You have to go into services and then press 001 select this is the engineers programme . You then need to go to Default Trp and change the frequency and polarisation unfortunately I can't remember to what but give one off the guys selling sku a call and they will tell you . You need to do this each time the power goes off

Thats good thanks - never thought of that about the single feed mode I just thought it would automatically see that there was nothing on feed 2 and just default to feed 1 (recognising I couldnt  record a channel I wasnt watching)

I'll give it a go !

Rich ive been using sky + for several years in GA, on my old sky receiver as spurs says i had to manually change polarisation every time power went off, all sky boxes i believe default back to uk mode, on my sky+ box it runs very well on uk mode, i think it all depended on quality and strength of signall. The signal is now the best it's ever been on the costa blanca.
They dont like it up em !
