Since we moved into our property 10 years ago there seems to be a massive shift in home owners. The Brits who were the dominant nationality seem to have moved on or back to UK and the Spanish and Scandinavians have moved in.The Brits who have had sold up after living the dream have not been replaced by Brits making GA a much more cosmopolitan area - maybe not a bad scenario!

Have to Agree 100% about the brits leaving i was one of them. After 14 years living the dream it was time to return to the UK. And i was one of those who said that would never happen. As your post said 99% of the people who we have meet and made some grate friends had gone back years before us.

Totally agree John when we bought our house 12 years ago it was almost all brits, over recent years most have sold up and moved back to the UK. This has meant our house is one of the few left empty a lot of the year where before it was half the street. We've also got great Spanish neighbours all round us. Also it has meant that culturally there's a good feel on our urb.
They dont like it up em !

Very interesting thread. We bought in 2000 and 80% on the street were from UK. Mainly the south. Sadly not many remain due to lots of reasons but there is now a great mix of mainly permanent residents from Spain, Holland, Scandinavians, Irish and a few brits buying again.
