One day car rental

Hi everyone,

We are due out in August and need a car for one day just to stock up with bulky items but do not want to rent for a week at a horrific cost as it will be the height of the summer season.Is their anywhere in the GA area where we could rent a car just for the day at a relatively sane price?

Might be easier to have a Mercadona home delivery, very good service......or hire  one of the local taxi lads for a couple of hours

Thanks for replies ,much appreciated - we were looking at picking up small amounts of furniture from places such as Leroy Merlin in Elche (garden tables,chairs etc) rather than food so counts out land train and bus I'm afraid.

Most of the airport hire firms do a 1 day hire but it's expensive maybe better to go for 3 or 4 days probably just as cheap or borrow one from someone for a day if you know anybody with a car there

I would agree with Spurs and having just done the new garden furniture thing I wouldn't count on getting it all in one day unless you are just after basic stuff. We spent about a week on and off picking and choosing and finished up with a table from Hnos Garcia in Torreveija, chairs from Ikea in Murcia and an umbrella and base from Aki in San Juan.
