Buying in Gran Alacant
« on: March 09, 2021, 16:38. »
Hi

We’ve just started the process of buying a holiday home here. I know it’s a terrible time what with the pandemic, but we’ve always wanted to do it and now we’ve retired we going ahead. Do you have any advice for us please?

Look at the thread entitled 'Winter in Gran Alacant' started on 3rd February by Stepe. (Last reply 14th Feb).  There is lots of information there.

Spend some time looking around GA is a series of different areas up the hill down the hill carrabassi, puerto marino. Decide which location you want , look at loads of properties , decide on the way you want it to face South facing is great for winter but very hot in summer north facing can be very cold in winter but better in summer. Don’t believe anyone who tells you your sea view will never disappear it will . Don’t believe anything about future developments near you they come and go daily.
Look through this forum there is a huge history of info . There are some good books recommended somewhere on here as well. Get a decent legal adviser I use Andrea Burns who has been brilliant over the last 20 years

Good luck. Just remember it's one PCR to go out and three when you come back, so that's £400 ish on top of your flights at the moment.

Hopefully you're right and we won't need a PCR test to enter some countries. Then we just need Boris to cancel the three we need to get back into the UK.

If you’re travelling to England (off Gov UK)

You must have proof of a negative coronavirus test to travel to the UK - even if you’re a UK citizen.

Take 2 coronavirus (COVID-19) tests after you arrive in England - you’ll need to book these before you travel and either quarantine in the place you’re staying or in a managed quarantine hotel for 10 days when you arrive in England. What you need to do depends on where you travel in the 10 days before you arrive in England.
