Just a warning re a suspected new conman in GA. A few days ago about 9am I was walking my dog on the cliff top at Brisas del Faro/El Olivo where the gliders take off from. A man with a rucksack appeared and started talking to me telling me he had climbed up from the beach and he had not eaten for 2 whole days etc and that he had no money and that he was trying to make his way to Portugal. He said he was from Syria. He was possibly in his 30s, slim with tanned skin and jet black hair. Another dog walker arrived and I left. I didn’t really think anything of it at the time however I was out walking my dog about 5.30pm today and I saw him again, this time on Avenida Escandinavia, just across from where the market is on a Thursday. He got out of a red Vauxhall Adam car which was being driven by a woman, possibly in her 20s but I didn’t get a good look at her face. He then sat outside one of the urbanisations with his rucksack. A few cars drove up to the urbanisation and when I looked back he had disappeared so I suspect he got into the urbanisation when the gate was left open by a car. Just thought I’d post this to see if anyone else has been approached by this man or seen anyone suspicious hanging about.
