So who is the actual builder?
It has Masa on all the literature...and the office!

I think the builder is MASA it was certainly on the side of the Lorry  delivering there last week that I saw. Masa have had some bad press but also a lot of people have bought very successfully from them including myself with no issues or problems . There have been many of these stories on various forums if you read and accepted them all you would never buy from any builder . The truth I believe is that MASA are no better or worse than any of the others and as most of them use the same construction methods there is very little to choose between them all . Certainly resale prices do not indicate any difference in the builder or quality

Masa went broke along with a lot of other builders in the building crash. But in spainish law you can still trade {just dont have to pay your outstanding bills) Which sent the company broke who used to make all there concrete panels. As any one who knows the company will know Masa only built prefab style of build. Because they still own most of the land in GA to get round there problem. They have sold bits of there land to builders.( Thats why there are so many different styles of houses  being built) As part of the deal Masa are the 100% sole selling agents for these plots.Masa can appoint there own agents to sell on there behalf. But the builder cannot sell direct, thats why all the boards say masa . Also Atlas International were never a builder they only sold houses for builders. so when a house was late same as all the other agents it was out of there control when the house were finished.

As gunner says Atlas were only an introductory agent who took the deposit. Having previously owned a masa build i would say they are pretty low on the quality scale. they look okay but are more 70s standard than 2000.

Bought our place in 2003, if I was doing it again would buy a resale, likely get furnishings thrown in and no worries about the developer going bust with your money, a lot can change in two years .Also you get a house a lot quicker.

Like John Hannon, I bought a TM property (Novamar). They have the best reputation of all the developers. There's a variety of types TM properties on Novamar for sale (including mine) which, as John says, often include the furnishings. If I was buying again, certainly in the present situation, I'd go for a resale.

As Kevin and Tony I'd go for a resale, you know exactly what you're getting and you get the benefit of "all the extras" the property owner had invested in, air con, security doors, sun blinds, patio furniture, mature garden plants.....the list goes on......and hopefully they've got rid of the ten bob (50p for our younger readers ) furniture pack the builder chucked in!!
There are some lovely very well kept properties out there, not holiday rental fodder, that have hardly been used.

Regards all

John

I'd love to go for a resale property. We could be in within a month or two.
Unfortunately, when you've been tempted by a modern new build, its difficult to go back to your original choice.
That said, we saw lots of awful properties which hadn't been touched in over ten years, but we also saw some which had been transformed beyond recognition into ultra modern, beautiful homes.

Who knows, maybe another couple of weeks of this fantastic summer weather we're experiencing here in the uk (sarcasm alert) will make us change our mind?

Cheers

Davy !!!

We bought off Masa in 2000 and had no problems whatsoever when dealing with them via their agents or offices. We also bought off them again in 2005 again without problems with them though the local council delayed the project by a year.
