I was watching the Tour De France as I always do and the subject of how the riders keep cool and their teams doctors/health people said the best way is to stick your feet and/or hands in cold water for the quickest way too cool down.

After experiencing the cold tiles on the bedroom floor in the winter that makes perfect sense to me Graham

Putting cold water on the wrists, or any pulse points, ankles, neck, groin does help cool the body as it cools the blood in the arteries.

Believe me the extremities are the parts that cool down quickest.
In Winter when I'm on a long run it's hat , gloves and...................well let's not go into any more detail about other parts !
