Hi all, we had contemplated putting our place in GA on the market this month, but we have decided not to, after looking in their crystal balls quite a few people we have spoken to have advised us to hold fire.
Mrs H fancies a refurb of the kitchen, new cabinet doors, draw fronts and worktops type of makeover.
Any suggestions as to who to do it or stores to purchase items from would be appreciated from anyone who has done this in GA

Hi John,
Brick Depot on the Creviliente road from Elche will probably be the cheapest option if you intend to d.I.y. If you need a carpenter, we have found (Vicente?) In Santa Pola to be reliable, do a good job,& not too expensive. They have a workshop & small showroom situated just past Eroski on the way into town. Park in the car park on the right, just past Eroski, & they're next to the paint shop.
Used them 3 times & not disappointed yet.

That was Brico Depot.
Forgot to say, glad you're not leaving us.
-
Cheers Mike, went to Brico today, unfortunately from the measurements I took of our units it would appear that a couple of them are not the "standard" sizes stocked by Brico.
Going to see a couple of companies who do refurbs on Monday to get a few prices............and ideas.

John out of interest what were the crystal balls saying.

Basically if you don't need the cash and you aren't investing the proceeds of the sale into another Spanish property give it two/three years, so we are
Only time will tell if it was sound advice, others may have a different view

Let's face it John if the £ keeps getting stronger and house prices are static then the value of our properties is decreasing on an a daily basis!

It's a gamble we all take Peter, it's swings and roundabouts.
It's making the kitchen refurb a few quid cheaper

We had a roof conversion to our galleria last year and extended the kitchen into it. We got the units, floor and wall tiles from Brico Depot in Crevillente.
Eddie Stokes did the install, floor plumbing and tiling for us - first class job. I can highly recommend Eddie for the quality of his workmanship.

Thank you Rich

After some recomendations we used http://www.kostakitchens.com/
What a great company.
They did the job in three days this week.
A tiler came on day 1 and removed the rather dated border tiles the builder provided and fitted some glass mosaic tiles.
On day 2 and 3 the kitchen fitter stripped the old kitchen down to the carcas and installed the new.
Just waiting for one plinth and an infil panel for the oven...........they sent a white one, the colour of the old oven, my fault for not telling them.
Ive attached a few before and after photographs
