Title: Land train
Post by: chris and jackie on July 19, 2022, 10:20.
Just had friends stay & they had this to say

We were a bit disappointed with the land train this year I know this has nothing to do with your service but a number of times we would turn up 10/15 mins early to find out we had missed the train they didn’t seem to be staying to there times so had to wait nearly 1hr. Also the prices had increased a lot and they were charging our 3 kids Adult tickets saying kids tickets were only for ages 4-6 years not sure how they can class that? And also not charging the Spanish family’s/kids full price so we’re taking advantage of the tourists. The tickets don’t show any ages on them.

Anyone else had similar feedback or experience?

We noticed that the train is all over the place re timing, we used it a few times in June, we took to turning up at least fifteen minutes before it's expected time to make sure we didn't miss it, we prefer the circuit bus as it's cheaper and quicker but only runs in the morning for some reason.

I would challenge any overpricing s their website clearly states :

ADULTS: 4,00 euros.

CHILDREN UP TO 4 YEARS: free.

CHILDREN FROM 4 YEARS: 2,50 euros.

BONUS FROM 10 ROUND TRIP: 35,00 euros.

Thanks AHV , seems he was charging English tourists full price for kids over 6 but cheaper rates for Spanish kids who maybe were more clued up, in any case he ripped them off & they won’t be using it again!

Just back from GA, no car hired this time due to excessively high costs for all the use we would have made of it, so used train a lot and were always charged the correct fares, 4 adults plus 2 children aged 8 and 11, plus one "baby" aged 2 and a bit, should have been 21 euros in all, some times he just took the blue bill and waived the extra 1 euro, I suppose it depended on the mood a bit and interaction with the driver to whom I always speak in Spanish, but whatever the case no complaints.

I think that if it says 22_00 at centro then it will run the full circuit passing carribasi around 22-00

Does the train start from the commercial centre in the morning outside the Mercadona  at 10am please or does it start somewhere else at 10am. Thank you

The train starts from the Health Centre by Altomar 2 at 10am but as it is parked at the Commercial Centre, my understanding is that it leaves there about 9.30am and will take anyone up with it to the starting point.

Thank you that’s great. We are arriving in an evening and staying at the hotel as we don’t arrive until midnight. We have had people stay in our apartment and thought it was better to start tidying up  fresh in the morning. So about 9.30 is great to get us up the hill 😂 got a bargain at the hotel €59 for the night.
