Title: EHIC cards

Just noticed that mine and my wife’s EHIC cars run out next month , is there any point in renewing them now are the still valid after Brexit can’t seen to find a definitive answer on line there is also mention of a GHIC card anyone know what that is

As I understand it the EHIC once expired is replaced by the GHIC which is a UK issue but only covers you for the 27 EU countries so really quite badly named. Apply for the GHIC to replace your EHIC

Our Ehic cards started expiring last year, as they near expiry just go onto Gov site for ghic and put your details in then the new style card arrives in the post. Had a brief look at the details and couldn’t really see much difference in cover than the ehic gave.

Thanks, I checked the expiry date on mine and applied last night, almost instant email approval. You can apply up to 6 months before your current one expires using the link above.
