Title: Fires

Hi I've seen online there are fires in GA , where  abouts are these and is all OK.

From the FB posts I've seen they appear to be on the rhs of Avenida de Mediterrani heading up the hill towards the 'curva peligrosa' from the GA centre opposite Avenida Hollanda.

The fire was directly behind our house on the scrubland between Calle Hollanda and Calle Luxemburgo. The wind at the time was blowing it towards masa, but thanks largely to the local residents and police and numerous hosepipes, it was restricted to an area of no more than 40 or 50 metres of burnt scrubland before the Alicante fire service were on site to extinguish it completely.

I saw the facebook posts about it and the little videos.

There was a mention that it was 25 minutes before the Fire Brigade got there!  I am guessing that they had to come from Elche.  That is scary in itself.

Yes indeed. If only we generated some taxes we could afford our own! :(
