Title: General information about GA at the minute needed please

Relatives going out to our house in a few weeks.  They have been every year since we bought the house 14 years ago but I am sure they will find things different this year so I was hoping for some information from people there at the moment that I could pass on to them. Including:-

They will be getting a taxi from the airport.  I had heard that taxis were just taking one passenger at a time - is that still the case?

What is the situation with social distancing on the beach?  Are there time limits for staying on the beach?

How are the bars/restaurants on Carabassi, Masa Square and Commercial Centre operating?

Any other info would be great

At the moment there are no rules for the beach apart from social distancing yourselves. There is a time limit for parking though of 4 hours - the green dotted lines where this applies are clearly shoen. There is a useful site here https://playas.cempol.es/#!/Localidad/ to check the capacity of each beach (constantly updated)

99% of the bars and restaurants are open, with social distancing enforced obviously.  Masks have to be worn in all supermarkets, public transport, public buildings and on entering bars and restaurants. Once sat at the table you can remove them, but if you get up from your chair you need to put them back on. You need to carry your mask at all times, but only need to wear it if you cannot maintain the 1.5m social distancing rules.  All in all, it's fine, your relatives will have a great time!

Do you have any idea if the taxis are taking more than one person as a passenger - particularly from the airport to GA?

I believe so, as have seen taxis with more than 2 people in, but masks are mandatory obviously.

GA is nothing like that!  8) Quieter than usual for this time of year, but still fairly busy.

Hopefully it was the Germans reserving spaces on beach who had belongings confiscated 😀

Sorry, yes you are right about that of course, I was thinking of GA specifically.

All the new “container box” beach bars on the Santa Pola (east) road are there also
