Title: Taxis

Does anyone else have a nightmare getting a cab?  We have had friends over staying by the GA centre while we are on the Meds. Two nights running they haven’t been able to get a cab using the Santa Pola cab no.  1st night no answer so they had to walk and last night he didn’t turn up so they reluctantly drove which obvs isnt ideal after a few bevvies.  Tried to pre-book as well but that was a no go. Bit embarrassing for us as well.  Is there a reliable no ?

I use Jose María Sanchez, it’s a fully legal white taxi and it operates 24/7 as 3 drivers do 8 hour shifts each between them. Only covers GA and Santa Pola and very reliable. 689 595 997.

I must have just been unlucky with him then as I rang him as well but he said his cab was in the garage being repaired

used a taxi to airport last week, number +34 630 039 734

Spoke really good english, checked 30 mins before arrival and he was fully aware booking and turned up on time.

Highly recommend

There was a couple of ex pats who did local runs around GA for 5 euro or Alicante/Airport runs for 20. We were last out in July and was told the 1 i knew about had finished due to ill health but was told later by another bar worker that a couple of ex pats driving around GA had been jumped and given a hiding by a couple of legit cabbies from Santa Pola. I will admit we used him for quick runs to the Mercadona for the big shop on arrival. You take a risk as he isnt insured but when needs must and frozen stuff will melt on the bus.

Is this the firm with the Father and Son who drive ? Both really nice lads if it is. Very friendly and prompt.

Was on the meter...  about 21 euros so gave him 25 euros for the good service
