Title: Insurance 4Car Rentals

Just been renewing our annual ‘extra’ cover for when we hire a rental car and noticed on website that after 29th March they are not, at moment, renewing policies for non-residents of UK. Apparently because of Brexit.. May be worth renewing now before the deadline.

Icarinsurance is still offering it at around £40 a year.

Maybe im being a bit thick, but it states that non uk residents cant have a policy which surely means that if your a uk resident then all is good, also if your a spanish resident you can buy a policy as before, so in respect of GA im not sure who
cant have one.Anybody clarify.

Hi Wilson, I spoke to company this morning just to clarify and it is correct that if you are a non-UK resident then you cannot purchase a policy after the 29th March 2019. So if you live here in Spain you would New to renew quickly. Depending on how Brexit goes, they may change this at a later date...hope that helps.

I would think that most excess policies on hire cars are bought by people using hire cars in their holiday destination like Spain, for most people it won't make any difference.

Those who live in Spain but come back to the UK to visit friends and family and for their August get away, or breaks in other parts of the world will use it.....
