I had that problem on the last cruise. It turned out that it was something to do with the boot up not recognising charging of the battery. The Apple store managed to reset it for me.

That’s where mine will be going in a couple of weeks Tony, I hope it’s that simple.....I’m rather lazy at doing back ups, maybe twice a year.....I’d hate to loose 6 months of photos

Having been a member of the 'It'll never happen to me' club and of course it did, I now back up religiously every week on a separate hard drive.
