Title: It's all a Matter of Taste
Post by: Keith and Jen on January 29, 2018, 09:10.
We have tried various brands of filter coffee in Spain but cannot find one that tastes remotely like the ones we get in the UK.  When we travel down by car, we usually bring some bags of coffee with us.  This time we flew down instead and our stock is about to run out.

Can anyone recommend a brand which is both drinkable and obtainable in GA?

We’ve tried quite a few for use in the stove top expresso machine and in the cafetiere, we’ve settled on the Mercadona Mezela level 4 (or 5 when available) mixed with a similar size pack of their decaffeinated from the same range
When folk come round they always ask for a second cup so it can’t be bad!!

Regards all

John

I always bring Nescafe with me, the stuff you buy in Spain isn't the same.

We buy Mercadona Mezela No. 4 coffee beans and grind them, we usually take a kilo bag home with us also. We've never had any complaints and family and friends rarely refuse a second cup. I'm sure the ready ground filter coffee will be the same standard as the beans.

We buy the Lidl filter coffee (Gold) both in UK and GA. My son and son-in-law are both avid coffee drinkers and they never complain.

I’m with Mike. Tried many brands and always come back to Lidl Gold. They sometimes have it on “special” and stock up then
