Title: Brits in Care Scam
Post by: Maricia on June 11, 2016, 09:22.
Article in today's Daily Mirror about a British couple and their 25 year old daughter being investigated for a care scam. Apparently they are trying to swindle property and savings from elderly ex-pats in the Gran Alacant/Santa Pola area by charging £2350.00 per month for care. The police said the daughter played a key role by identifying targets at the chemist she works at. The 3 have been released on bail.

No prizes for guessing who these people are! Just googled it and read that the family targeted elderly English speaking people with no family. Also they opened an illegal care home with four residents and took the mobile phones off the residents.

I'm not naming them either but when I was reading the story it just unfolded as I know of two people who are working for the parents (of the girl in the pharmacy) providing care.

Surely we're not referring to the pharmacy in GA by the Life resort?

I think we shouldn't be so hasty.........  maybe it is not as bad as everyone thinks? As far as the young lady in the farmacia, she has always been charming and very helpful.

Correct, but there are more Farmacia's in Santa Pola as well, which is the point I was trying to make without spelling it out. I have only found the one article so unless someone has other information then we will have to wait for further news.

On the basis that people here clearly know who these people are, and the fact that the girl is well known in GA, we have to be talking about the pharmacy in GA, which of course is technically in Santa Pola. I'm sure details will filter out in the coming weeks.
