Is it just me or is the sea colder than normal for the time of year
I've been in a couple of times and either I'm getting soft or its normally this "invigorating"
Whilst I'm moaning is this wind normal in May or have I been wearing rose tinted specs for the last 12 years!!

We seem to have had this wind, on and off, all winter. Bit of a pain on the beach today!

Sue and I were at Urbanova yesterday - no one in the sea atall, I soon found out why ! Took a bit to get over the "critical" point (guys you know what that is) and then right in ! "bracing" is a good description !

We were on the Shirley Bassey yesterday Rich, the sea was lovely and calm, it looked very inviting......I even thought I might nip back to the car and get my mask and tube for a spot of snorkelling!!
After a quick dip I declined the trip to the car.
I'm sure the sea at home on the Yorkshire Coast was warmer last Summer.

I am still jealous, here on the north east coast we have still only had the odd day at a high of 16, so far this year, its been mostly like it is today, gales, ten degrees of horribly grey, even for england in the north its been well under par. By the way john i think i remember you being a fan of Northern Soul and dont know whether you will be there but La Piedra are having a northern soul night on 10 June, we will just miss it but will be coming out on our hols shortly after and even more than normally, we cant wait.

Hideous here in Suffolk today, cold wet and grey, Essex down the road had a months rain in a few hours, some cars under water, I don't think I have ever found the sea around GA very warm in May also most erratic May weather I've known in GA this year

Think yourselves lucky. Its rained all day here in Scunthorpe and its cold. Mrs. Iron has put her woolly vest back on.

The sea is doable, but as you say, does seem colder than previous years. Doesn't help when you get out to be in the wind.
For once, the pool is warmer.
Either way, it's good to be able to swim, which I wouldn't be doing in Cornwall for several weeks yet

It's been non stop sun in the Isle of Man for last 10 days and forecast to last another 10 at least. We will be in Ga next week for hopefully more sun!
Won't be risking the sea here either.
