Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
Seen yesterday late afternoon at the pool in the Clot

Great shots Mark
I've not seen a fox down there, had a few glimpses of them between here and Santa Pola on the coast road
Regards all

Lovely, we had one walk by our house here in England a couple of weeks ago and theyre at saltholme, our local nature reserve but never seen one out there. We saw some beautiful little birds at the clot last time out which had a lot of red on them on their chest and head but have no idea what they were yet, any ideas?

Could be either Linnets or Goldfinches - lots of both species in the Clot.

One of the things that puzzles me is the scarcity of raptors. I only ever see the odd one or two when I'm in GA and I would have thought there would be more. Mark will doubtless turn up now and list 17 different species that frequent the Clot. ;)

You can read Marks articles every month in the local magazine at www.granalacantadvertiser.com

You're not the only one who is puzzled, Tony.
For some reason there are very few raptors in the Clot during the summer - during the winter there are always one or two Marsh Harriers and the occasional Booted Eagle. If you go out into the countryside, particularly around El Hondo, you can see several different species quite easily but perhaps it is the human disturbance which deters them from the Clot. Certainly there's plenty of potential "victims" for them....

Super photos Mark!

Am i the only one who's noticed the absence of feral cats locally certainly around monte mar, maybe Mr Fox is helping us out.

Thanks for pics Mark, don think its either of these, definitely not a goldfinch and seemed to be much redder than a linnet, am beginning to wonder if someones caged bird got loose or if its not a usual visitor and had got blown off course. Will look for it again next time out and try to remember a camera, we love the clot and always enjoy your bit at the back of the mag.

Some years ago saw about thirty or more booted eagles circling very high up over GA, saw one over the Clot while we were out recently.
