Title: Bridge Repairs?

Flying out in two weeks and still not sure whether the bridge in and out of GA will be in operation.
There's lots of pretty pictures available online with every possible configuration.
There's also quite a lot of opinion out there.
What there isn't though is a great deal of fact?
Does anyone know exactly what lanes will be closed and for how long.....or a link to an official website with up to date info?

Davy im not quite sure what your concern is about the bridge, its just a slip road with a raised platform which most people use to get onto the GA area, there are several other ways to get on without the bridge. It really is no big deal. Also your question about facts, this is something which will forever elude you in spain everything is manyana best get used to it if joining us on the lovely costa blanca.
As for opinions you will quickly learn that some peoples opinion including many on this forum that is sound hard earnt advice, sadly there are always a few who talk a total load of utter nonsense, this is my opinion of course.

We just left Gran Alacant after long weekend.  Used the bridge no problems

Hi Davy, arrived in GA last night, I didn't even think about the bridge, just came down the 332 as normal, as puddy-woo says no problems
I did note that you couldn't cross the bridge to head south on the 332. As reported on here in the last week or so there is a diversion in place

Shouldn't it be a roundabout anyway?! How come we're the only idiots with a bridge? No one else from here to La Manga has an access bridge do they?

Oh please lets get a grip were talking about a slip road off the 332 being closed for a week with several alternatives, none of which will cause a problem. Life is too short for such trivial nonsense.

So the nub of it was that I could have come direct from the airport on Saturday instead of going round the houses but today when I go to collect OH's sister, I will have to go all round the houses.

Victor, for us who have been here a while and know our way around if a bridge is closed or a road is blocked, so what, there's always another route we know and take.
For someone who doesn't know the area, or isn't that confident in travelling around information like this and the opportunity to think about and plan an alternate route can relieve a lot of stress

If you dont like the thread don't contribute to it

If people are getting genuinely stressed over a slip road being temporarily closed then they maybe better off staying at home.As this is a forum i assumed that we all as members have a view or opinion which we can express freely within the rules . A bit like the golf course this thread should never have got off the ground.

As someone who has never been to Gran Alacant and who will be arriving at around midnight...if I arrived at the bridge to find that it was closed, it could cause me real problems.

Now that I'm aware that there may potentially be a problem with the bridge being closed, I can plan an alternative route should it be required.

I therefore think that this thread....for me...and hopefully others, has been very worthwhile. I understand that to someone who has been before and knows their way around, this must seem like a pointless thread, but for those of us who haven't, it's not.

Well said, there are some smug people on here who assume everyone knows an alternative route at 1am, even when you've never been here before. And then you have to find your villa on Ave Belgica
