The new political powers in Santa Pola have stated that "the area (GA) currently has an office that is insufficient to serve the more than 11,000 inhabitants there"
The article is here http://www.diarioinformacion.com/baix-vinalopo/2016/03/10/santa-pola-presiona-consell-lograr/1737054.html

HI john what will be the implications do you think? will they expand the Medical centre ? :o
-
This has been a stated problem for a few years, nothing new. Where is the money to build a new health centre.
-
Gone on the new market, roundabouts and other things that weren't needed !
-
The cost of a market site and/or roundabouts do not match the cost of a health centre. When money is granted to our Town Hall, it is almost always specified what you can use this money for. So many people do not realise this.
-
The new team in the Town Hall in Santa Pola appear to be talking far more about GA than the previous incumbents, this talk isn't bestowing the area.
Hopefully the recognition we now have in local government will see more funding for GA as at last someone is championing us.

Talking about the same things, meeting the same stumbling blocks.
We had to, through the local magazine, even make them aware of the shambles the bank was looking between the church and the GA centre.
They acted as soon as the magazine complained.
Could they not see it. Do they ever come onto Gran Alacant. Is it now, all Santa Pola.
Are you really sure that it is now better!!

Time will tell Barry
They can't be any worse
The new team don't seem to spend as much time as Miguel and Lorreta posing for photographs thats for sure.

They pose for photographs after doing good things.
Name one good thing so far from the new regime.
In 13 years one hell of a lot has been done to our urbanisation. We have been here, and seen it!
-
Lots of us have been here 13 years Barry and seen SP raking the cash in from GA.
Miguel and Loretta can't have won the hearts and minds of the majority otherwise they would still be in control.
It's early days for the new administration, we all know how slow things can be in Spain, time will tell if we see more cash coming back to GA
My money is on Yolanda delivering far more
99% of the development I have seen in GA has been done with private not public money.
Since we have been here I have seen some pavements laid, some minor planting and the provision of a few seats, a school with children in portacabins, an overtly expensive roundabout, a children's playground, a dog park, a sports building and an area asphalted at great expense for the market........oh and somewhere to take my garden refuse

Yes, lots done in the past.
But you said nothing had been done on GA.
Surely the most untrue statement ever made on gasbags.

Please tell me where I said "nothing has been done in GA" Barry, Ive double checked and I can not see such a comment.
Of the 30,000 residents of Santa Pola a third and a rapidly growing percentage are currently in GA..........as the current administration have aknowledged its about time we saw a higher percentage of the revenue being directed at us.

Have to agree, John. Most of the improvements in GA have been privately funded, while until now we have been the poor relation as far as the Santa Pola council have been concerned.
Let´s pray the new council will match words with deeds!

Why do the media always start shouting louder if an opposite opinion is voiced, shocking!
