Hi everyone I didn't have Gas installed but my road has the pipes laid, now I am thinking of having gas central heating installed and any paperwork which was given at the time I don't have if anyone has had it installed in a 3 bed villa could you advised approximately the costing and, of course, whether you are happy with it or not
Thanks

Three neighbours are having it put in at the moment, rad in each room, all have three bedrooms, 6ft heated towel rail in both bathrooms, cost c.€3,000.
The Mrs had me at the administrators this morning to find out when gas pipes are being laid past our house, she wants it installing.......she's promised me we can come out in Dec/Jan/Feb if we get it installed.......what we save on a winter trip to The Canaries will pay for it!!

I'm split in my views on this John. In my urb. "Gas Natural" have made a pigs ear of their install process, not clearing up their mess, interfering with other property service (water and electric supply) and some eyesores of pipe installation running up and over houses.
Counterpoint being cheap(er) heating and a much more comfortable house in the winter.

we had gas natural install our central heating....fitting free..when they installed gas.....very pleased with it....would certainly do it again!!

They are only installing it to properties on the outside of the community, the community has voted twice not to allow it to inside properties, so hopefully we should have no mess Rich. From what I've seen the pavement outside the house will be lifted with the pipes being underground till they meet the house walls.
I've been given a name of Raul Montero at Gas Natural as the key contact I need to make on 628 638 504
I'm giving him a call next week to discuss connection
At the dance tonight I was chatting to a lady who has gas central heating, she loves it, her combined bill, gas and electric is lower than just the electric used to be and she told me her house was much warmer.
In all honesty if it's a few quid more it wouldn't bother me, I'd rather be comfortable

Just had a check Rich, stop tap in the pavement, shielded pipe up the garden wall and then pipe to the house.

Anyone have any idea what the standing charges are for the gas. We have central heating installed and use the gas bottles.

On our community the company installing the underground pipes is gasnatural fenosa, they are doing a few communities in GA but not all of them.
Best bet is to speak to your administrator to find out the details for your community.
One the gas is "down our street" it's only a couple of days notice to get connected/have a meter fitted they told me.
Installation is normally €180, but they are currently offering it free of charge.
