Best meal in Gran Alacant.....

.....by a comfortable margin on this visit was tonights at Restaurante Marandi
The surroundings are lovely and the service was very professional and unhurried
We chose the €50 for two menu including drinks and where both delighted
Great flavours and excellent presentation on each course.
Pleased to say the restaurant was fairly busy this evening with 18 other diners enjoying their meals whilst we were there
We have been several times to Mirandi now and have always been delighted
I've attached a few photos, taken with my phone so please excuse them, they don't do it justice

Almost on the same table then !

Had the lamb on Fri - it is really good in there. In hindsight I wich we had gone for the €50 menu - the two course we chose with a starter and wine was €75 (no pud !)

After our last trip over (all of November) and first visit to Marandi, I would agree that it's edged into the top slot!  Closely followed by the 'usual suspects' of Tres Besos and La Paletta.  Chakra in Arenales comes up well, though, especially if you enjoy being serenaded by the boos and his dad - great stuff!

It's closed now, reopens on the 1st March

Hi Rich, some friends out in GA at the moment know it's our favourite restaurant......they delicately broke the news about an hour ago
I hope they are wrong, we are in GA next month for four weeks and we where looking forward to having a few €50 a couple specials

Just had a mail from one of our Norwegian friends.

Looks like the owner is being bullied by Masa and the Santa Pola council to the point that he wants to throw the towel in. I was hoping MASA's importance was fading in our area

Hi Rich, I dropped them a note thanking them for some excellent meals and asking if it was true that the restaurant was closing.
The reply I received said they thought it was the end in this location.
Shame, hopefully we will see a relaunch in a different location.......watch this page
On a more positive note the new look Patagonia reopens tonight on Sierra Mar

They were instructed by Santa Pola to take down the glass enclosed eating area - but as the building is owned by Masa and he pays rent for it, he asked them to do the work asked for by SP Council.

Masa will only do it if Marandi pay !
