La Cova Restaurant
« on: May 25, 2015, 16:09. »
Just looking at John Hannon´s  photos of EL Campello and they reminded me of a wonderful restaurant we visited in El Campello in 2012, it was called "La Cova". Set on the hillside overlooking the bay ... typical Spanish restaurant with excellent food, service and views. I had the lamb with fresh vegetables .... melt in the mouth. Must go there again soon. I´ve pinched one of John´s photos (below) to show you the position of the restaurant ... highly recommended.

La Cova is one of our favourites too, we have been going for many years now, always good, freshly prepared and well presented food with lots of choices.
The Roman ruins further down the road past the tower are well worth a visit, much bigger than you initially think and quite reasonable entrance fees. Just don't go on a hot day, save that visit for a cool day.

Know it well.
We owned at Campello 30 years ago.  Ask in the restaurant about the tower.  It's been rebuilt, but was used to store the fireworks for the fiesta.
There are no prizes for guessing!!!!!

What a great recomendation!!!

Mrs H and I called in at La Cova for lunch today, fantastic location, great food, very good staff and at a reasonable price.

We opted for the 17.50 menu del dia............probably the best menu del dia we have had.

I kicked off with a tuna quiche, something Ive never tried before..........it was amazing, very light and smooth and a glorious flavour, Mrs H had the tomatoe soup.........it didnt come out of a tin!!

For main I had the English Pie...........a Guiness and steak pie, big enough for two and full of the tenderest tastiest meat accompanied by a side dish of roast potaoes and a side dish of seasonal veg..........both were perfect and piping hot. Mrs H had a knuckle of pork that was that tender it just fell off the bone, served on a potaoe and apple mash.

We will be going back............although not on a Monday when its closed!!

Once again thanks for the recomendation,.

Came back home and enjoyed a nap Mushte

The desserts were what I would call a pudding, very very good, I had baked peaches, mouthwatering, Mrs H had a white chocolate brownie that, being the gent that I am, helped her to polish off
I'm sure that you'll enjoy it.
